The award-winning novel is a story full of drama and excitement through which the reader meets Nidali, a muslim girl struggling with the problems of being a teenager and growing up in two conflicting worlds, in the Middle East and in America. Nidali was born in Boston to an Egyptian-Greek mother and a Palestinian Father. She leaves dear Boston, however, for an eccentric middle-class life in Kuwait, and later she is forced to move to Egypt and then to Texas because of the Iraqi invasion. The author also writes short-stories and has translated for numerous anthologies and novels.
