It is the classic “boy meets girl”-story: Marilyn Monroe, as a beautiful new divorcée, meets an aging ex-cowboy in the stunning desert landscape of Nevada. While not a commercial success at the time of its release, the movie, which Arthur Miller wrote the screenplay to, received rave reviews from critics for its script and performances. It also marked the final film appearances ever for Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable.
