Reading and Talk with Karen Russell, Miami, FL. Karen Russell is an author, Visiting Professor of Creative Writing at Bryn Mawr College, and fellow at the American Academy in Berlin. Her first book of short stories St. Lucy´s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves (2006), earned her recognition as a National Book Foundation Under 35% honoree. Her second book Swamplandia!, a novel about grief, family and a shabby amusement park set in the Everglades, was published in February 2011 and was internationally highly praised, for example by the Süddeutsche Zeitung. She has taught fiction and literature at Columbia University and Williams College, and is currently writer-in-residence at Bard College, NY.
