A new group of peace activists from the USA, Europe, Iraq and Afghanistan are resisting Barack Obama's continuation of the militarist American foreign policy. They have moved beyond demonstrations and petitions into direct action, defying the government's laws and impeding its ability to wage war.

In Radical Peace: People Refusing War Hathaway, a former Fulbright professor of American studies and a Special Forces combat veteran turned peace activist, traces their ideas and convictions and explains a peace activists way of life.
