The film traces the history of the 92nd division, an African-American combat unit which fought valiantly in Italy during WWII. However, it wasn’t until 1997 that their efforts were acknowledged by the American public. The award-winning documentary focuses on the segregation of the so-called “Buffalo Soldiers”, their friendships with Italians, and the prejudices they encountered after returning to the United States. The documentary is history brought to life through historical photographs, documents and re-enactment footage.
